A native of Hampton Roads, Scott Whitlow is a graduate of Kempsville High School, James Madison University (Magna Cum Laude) and the University of Virginia School of Law.
Following his graduation from law school and admission to the bar in 1989, Scott began working for a Virginia Beach law firm where he specialized in civil litigation with a particular emphasis on the defense of personal injury cases including motor vehicle collision, premises liability (including "slip/trip and fall" and dog bite cases), and defective products.
He also practiced extensively in the areas of motor vehicle property damage defense, insurance coverage disputes, construction litigation, and personal injury.
In 1993, Scott became an in-house trial attorney in the Norfolk office of a major insurance company where for more than nine years he practiced extensively in the defense of personal injury, wrongful death, and property damage cases arising out of motor vehicle collisions, premises liability, and defective products. He also frequently represented the insurer in insurance coverage disputes.
In 2003, Scott founded Scott V Whitlow PC and began using his experience as a long-time attorney for insurance companies in an effort to get maximum compensation for injured persons.
He practices extensively in the areas of personal injury including motor vehicle crashes, slip/trip and falls, dog bites, defective products, and medical neglect and handles cases involving all injuries and wrongful death. He also frequently represents individuals and businesses in disputes with insurance companies and in a variety of other civil litigation matters.
With more than 33 years of experience, Scott has extensive jury trial experience in all Hampton Roads courts. He is admitted to practice in all Virginia Courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
A husband and father, Scott resides with his family in Virginia Beach.
